The Heat Death of the Universe
We skip-toed through sea foam
I tripped you a knee-fall
Still made you smile, cos I could do no wrong
We passioned a life-form
She kindled to freedom
And all the while, you and me so young
Tomorrow came still-born
Disfigured and half-drawn
Inlaid with time, and frozen in the dawn
Life in slow-emotion gliding down to planet Earth
To find a cool down in the ocean
At the heat death of the universe
So where did the time go?
A photon torpedo
One blaze of light, and nothing moving on
Life in slow-emotion gliding down to planet Earth
To find a cool down in the ocean
At the heat death of the universe
Barely moving forward through this singularity
I watching memories from the corner of my eye
And now they’re overtaking me
To find a future that I know I’ll never see
I’m still alive enough to feel the embers dying by degree
Fading in the slow death of the heat
So where did the time go?
A photon torpedo
One blaze of light, and everything was gone
Life in slow-emotion gliding down to planet Earth
To find a cool down in the ocean
At the heat death of the universe
I swallowed comets, ate the stars
I sucked the fire from their hearts
I built my empire from the flames
And threw their essences away
I stood on mountains and proclaimed
These are the rules, this is my game
I came to tolerate the rush
Till love could never be enough
And words could never be enough
And fear could never be enough
And time could never be enough
It’s never gonna be enough
It’s never gonna be enough…
